The balaphone is a traditional West African percussion instrument that resembles a xylophone. Created by master Ghanaian balaphone builders, each balaphone includes six wooden notes with calabash gourd resonators of decreasing size. The entire piece is lashed with strips of goatskin.
This beautifully tuned African musical instrument is as inviting to the eye as to the hand. Mallet included.
